Richard E. Roy Collection
Comments:
This bridge was rebuilt by Stone & Harris of Springfield, MA, in 1853-54 at a cost of $4538.66. One span was replaced in 1878-79 and the other about 1896. The 1879 Railroad Commissioners Report noted that the oldest span of the bridge at Seymour is to be replaced with an iron span built by the Keystone Bridge Company. The 1896 Railroad Commissioners report stated that the wooden Howe truss at Seymour was replaced with an iron girder bridge.
