Comments:
Vertical siding. This bridge was originally located on KY 32, 2 miles south of its current location. No photograph of the bridge at its original location has been discovered. The WPA moved it to its current location in 1932. Each piece was labelled as the bridge was disassembled. A bad windstorm during the reconstruction knocked down the partially completed structure and the group needed to start over. The Graf Zeppelin was reported to have flown overhead during construction of the concrete pier. This covered bridge is the only surviving example of Ithiel Town’s Lattice design in Kentucky. Construction date is unknown, but Stock Bower believed it to have been 1864. Its original builder is unknown. It was restored in 1968 under the supervision of Stock Bower of Flemingsburg. Goddard Bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. It was bypassed 1998. The bridge was completely renovated using most of the original timbers between 2004 and 2006. The most noticeable change was the dry stone abutments and parapets. Coordinates are at a possible location of the bridge.
