Fristoe Bridge, Meigs, Adams County, OH Flood 1937
Miriam G. Wood Collection
Comments:
End panels reinforced with cross bracing, looking like a Long truss. Per the Portsmouth Daily Times, May 12, 1936, "BRIDGE CLOSED - PEEBLES, May 12---The covered bridge on route 41, known as the Fristoe bridge over Brush creek, five miles south of Peebles is closed to traffic. The foundation was weakened by recent floods. The bridge was built 66 years ago. A concrete bridge will replace it and the road built through Richard Fristoe's farm."
