Comments:
Chester County #74. 8-panel truss. Also known as Jonathan Speakman's Mill Bridge #1. It was built in 1881 by Ferdinand and Menander Wood for $2,000.00. "On January 5, 1959, the bridge was set on fire, but fortunately, quick work on the part of the Buck and Doe Run Valley Farms Patrol and the Modena Fire Company, saved the bridge from serious damage." (James). Before the 1991 Type 10 map, the entire length of Frog Hollow Road, as well as a left turn off the bridge onto Covered Bridge Road was LR15068. Now the bridge and section of Covered Bridge Road that were previously LR15068 are designated as SR3074. Now Frog Hollow Road from the north end of the bridge northward is T454. A right turn onto Covered Bridge Road has always been T371.
