Comments:
Notice for a covered lattice bridges was published in July 1879 and awarded to Amos Thomas for a bid of $545.00. The bridge was completed in November 1879. Oddly, the truss used only one supporting chord rather than two. The 1871 Atlas also has the site marked "Thomas Iron Ore". It had been closed in December 1995 and stood until dismantled in 1997 and replaced by a replica covered bridge in 1998. It was located in Armstrong Township about 200' west of the Washington Township border.
