Comments:
The bridge was restored by Milton S. Graton in 1977 at a cost of $14,000.00. In order to preserve the bridges authenticity, steel beams were placed ½" below the bridge to support any overload on the bridge. Other work consisted of raising the deck a foot and a half to keep the deck system dry and in 1989 new roof planks were installed and the floor was re decked. Circa 2001 the roof boards were replaced and a standing-seam steel roof was installed. One problem with the bridge resulted when the Kingpost was built with wood that had a spiral grain. Visibly cracking, it is now secured with a metal clamp. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 13, 1974.
