Comments:
The Irishman Covered Bridge, also known as the Honey Creek Covered Bridge, originally crossed Honey Creek in Section 13, Township 11 North, and Range 9 West, on Ferree Road (old 25th Street?) about where Highway 46 crosses Honey Creek, northwest of Riley, Vigo County. This single span Modified Queen Post Truss structure has a length of 75 feet, or 85 feet including the 5-foot overhang at each end, is 14 feet wide and 13 feet high. Built about 1847 by C. W. Bishop, the Irishman Covered Bridge was moved to its current location in Fowler Park in 1971 where it crosses a section of a pond and is surrounded by period log structures.
