Comments:
[20-15N-8W]. J.J. Daniels was awarded the contract for this bridge with his bid of $7,650. A new gravel road built between Rockville and Mecca between 1877 and 1879 increased traffic through the bridge. Parts of this road would eventually become US41. The bridge survived floods in 1875, 1913, July 1957 and 1990 with water rising above the floor in the last two floods. The brdge was closed to traffic and bypassed in 1964 or 1965. Restored 1993.
