Comments:
10-panel truss. There are three different building dates: 1872 - Henry Falk; 1884 - bronze plaque at the bridge placed by the county; 1892 - Kissing Bridges in Bedford County list. The plaque also gives the builders: "William H. Imler was paid $2.75 per perch for the masonry work and George Fluck built the superstructure for $895.00", as well as some of the mill owners. The bridge was closed around 1990. The September-November 1991, New York State Covered Bridge Society newsletter indicated that the bridge had been closed for a year and the Bedord County Covered Bridge Society was working to have it restored instead of being replaced by a new, modern bridge. The repair work was substantial enough that the National Society for the Preservation of Covered Bridges considered it as a new bridge in 1994. The span was re-opened to traffic on Saturday, June 11, 1994.
