Comments:
Closed, private. 10-panel truss. According to its National Register application, the bridge single span Burr truss bridge was built by Joseph D. Lightner in 1889 to replace a structure lost during a flood that year. It cost $1,105.00. In Henry Falk’s article on Perry County covered bridges in the Summer 1992 Topics (page 3), he noted that the earlier bridge was built in 1812, probably by the Waggoner family who owned a nearby mill. At the time of the article, the bridge belonged to the Perry County Historical Society. The bridge burned in a suspicious fire on October 21, 2021. Sometime prior to August 2022, a new roof and siding had been added to cover the charred trusses.
