Comments:
Like many Washington County Bridges, this one has vertical siding painted red inside and out with an opening at the eaves. There are two rectangular windows on each side near the portals. According to a covered bridge booklet put out by the Washington County Planning Commission, the following is stated: "The Kingposts in the truss system are all sawed except for two, indicating that timbers from a previous bridge were used in the construction of this one. However, the date this bridge was erected is unknown." It was rebuilt in 1998. It is oriented north-northeast to south-southwest in Somerset Township on Ridge Road (T802), slightly over 200' south of Interstate 70. After passing over the Interstate, the road changes to Sumney Road, but maintains the T802 designation.
