Comments:
Per the Montpelier Evening Argus, September 23, 1938, "A covered bridge, a landmark known as Laundry bridge, often viewed by tourists, lost its roof which was carried 50 feet upstream." Per The Barre Daily Times, Septmeber 27, 1938, "The only covered bridge in town, known as the Craft bridge, had its roof taken off in the hurricane. This is one of the old landmarksin town but was soon to be torn down and replaced by a more modern bridge." The bridge was removed after the road was relocated.
