Comments:
The bridge was built at a point where the old Connecticut River Turnpike crossed the deep ravine of Lull's Brook for $1600. It once had a spring-fed wooden conduit running through it lengthwise to carry water to Martin's Mill on the south bank. The remains of Martin's sawmill and lumber business remain along the south bank of the brook. In 1979 distribution beams were tie-bolted under the deck, diagonal steel sway braces were installed, and steel cables were added for lateral support.
